About Ipamorelin
Ipamorelin is a synthetic five-amino-acid growth hormone secretagogue studied primarily as an agonist of GHS-R1a, commonly called the ghrelin receptor. This pathway is distinct from the GHRH receptor activated by Sermorelin or CJC-related peptides, although both signaling systems can influence pituitary growth hormone release.
Early animal studies described Ipamorelin as relatively selective for growth hormone release compared with several older growth hormone-releasing peptides, with less activation of selected ACTH and cortisol responses in those models. That selectivity is experimental and should not be presented as proof that the compound is side-effect-free or clinically safe.
Human evidence remains limited. FDA has identified potential immunogenicity and peptide-characterization concerns and cited serious adverse events, including death, in a study involving intravenous Ipamorelin for gastric-motility research.
